At One

At One emphasizes peace and safety, taking its inspiration from the Adinkra symbols used in Kente cloth designs.

These symbols have been used for hundreds of years as an ancient African writing system of verbal and visual imagery and are on display at the Old Dillard Museum. The two symbols, Adwo and Fihankra, merge into a cohesive sculptural form. Drawings used in the artwork were collected from Dillard High School art students.
