Energetic

Energetic is an illuminated, site-specific sculptural canopy designed for Sycamore Park that celebrates the intersection of recreation, nature, and community. Inspired by the park’s history of athletic use and unique ecology, the artwork features a dynamic metal surface of colorful triangular patterns paired with flowing figure-eight bands that incorporate text gathered from the local community. These elements convey movement, play, and connection while inviting visitors of all ages to move around, under, and through the sculpture. Activated by shifting shadows during the day and a soft glow at night, Energetic serves as a cultural touchstone for the park that encourages creative play, learning, and community building.
