Civitas

Civitas is a site-responsive sculptural canopy designed for the Tittle McFadden Public Safety Center that explores themes of protection, trust, and community engagement. Serving as a welcoming gateway to the building, the sculpture creates a protective, sheltering form that visitors can move around, under, and through. A spiral pattern of metal panels incorporates text gathered from public safety employees and community members, highlighting shared values, positive relationships, and good citizenship.
